ABOUT

As you may have already gathered, my name is Ella and I am a freelance photographer based in the East of England. I predominately focus on vintage hot rods and kustoms, working with both film and digital photography.

I was introduced to photography at a young age by my Grandfather, who was himself a photographer. During the 1950s, he worked for Avon Tyres and later at Rolls Royce - often taking photographs on the job. He was very much into automotive and motorsports, photographing at the very first Grand Prix at Silverstone and the Isle of Man TT, as well as local street racing. He often shot his work using 1930s Leica cameras, two of which he has passed onto me and I continue to use on a regular basis.

After getting my first DSLR camera in my early teens, I began taking pictures at various hot rodding and vintage car events. Wanting to refine and expand my skills, I then attended the City of Bath College, achieving Distinction grades in all of my work. Upon finishing my studies, I have continued to work on a freelance basis covering a number of events in the UK, such as the VHRA Hot Rod Races at Pendine Sands in Wales, the home of the original Land Speed Record attempts, and Atomic Vintage Festival. I have also been featured in several international magazines, including Guitarist and Classic & Sports Car.

I am always on the lookout for new work, so if you have an idea of a photoshoot or collaboration, or if you would like to use any of my images, please do not hesitate to contact me
